Rape: Who's At Fault?

Recently, I saw a comment on an article shared about a rape story, while scrolling scrolling through my news feed.
The comment left me disgusted at how bizarre the mind-set of some people is, and at how can some think this way.

I am, thus writing this article as a reply to the Sir who made this comment, and to everyone else, just as a reminder of how heinous the act is.

Firstly, Rape is downright wrong. Whether a man, or a female is raped, that does not matter.
Coming to whose fault it is, I can assure you all that, rape, under any and every circumstance is never the fault of the victim. No human can ever do anything that makes them worthy of being raped. The victim under no law, and in influence of no reason is deserving of this act. There is no law in any country, and any religion that suggests or allows rape as a punishment. The victim is victim. The victim is not guilty of anything.

Taking the article under discussion into consideration, the woman had refused to marry a local goon, who upon refusal raped the woman, then threw her near her parents' house, and told them that he had taught them a lesson.
This is no excuse to rape someone, and this is no reason to rape someone. All the laws, and the religions give everyone a right to marry with their choice taken into account, and not to forced into marriage. Rape, on the other hand, is not allowed. We all have been alloted some basic rights, and there is no right called 'Right to Rape'. There is no doubt on whose fault it is, and I am shocked that such a controversy was even raised.

Rape, affects the victim in more ways, than one can imagine. It affects the victim physically and mentally, it affects the soul of the victim. Rape affects every part of the victim's life. The rapist, on the other hand, not even little close to it and rarely goes through anything such. The hell that the victim goes through is too much, and nothing can make them deserving of that. It is never a rape victim's fault. No person in their right mind would think elsewise, and no person with littlest of fear of God in them would do such a heinous act.
Everyone needs to understand this.

Is Pen Really Mightier Than The Sword?

"The pen is mightier than the sword."-Edward Bulwer-Lytton
I do not exactly remember when, I first heard this proverb, shall I say, but if my memory does not betray me, it was when I was in 5th Grade, participating in a debate-contest. This very line was a part of my words, on the topic, 'Peace-A Need of Time.' Until now, I have always been in agreement with it, but is a pen really mightier than the sword? Why not decide this now.

Words penned down by a pen possess immense and extraordinary power over us. From the start of the day till the very end, from our first word to our who We have all uttered a humongous amount of words; meaningful and meaningless. Words, as I've heard, can turn someone's night into day, can save a person from the depths of hell, and can leave a forever imprint on lives. Words truly do matter, but one thing I have learned is that there is always a 'but'. Let me know, would you rather have someone tell you that they love you, or prove it to you by actions? Would you rather have someone tell you that everything would be okay or have them hold your hand and squeeze it, wrap an arm around you, give you a shoulder to cry on, and a chest to bury your head in and physically be there? Should asking someone, who is ill, over text not be sufficient? Then why visit them, with a bouquet of flower in hand and a nice story to tell in mind?

One's words can harm someone they say and so I have heard. Would you rather have me call you an asshole, your wife a bitch, tell your daughter she is two-faced and your son that nothing will become of him or have me come down at your house, shoot a bullet through your son's head, throw acid on your daughter's face, burn your wife to ashes, and stab you right in the heart? What hurts more? If it's the words that do, giving threats would be as much or more useful than placing a gun on a man's temple. If it's the words that do, people would not act more obediently when you have a gun pointing at them.

If words did possess as much as I have heard, we would've stuck to books and text. We would not be out here actually living life and showing our children how things are done.
People come out on streets, protest, and show what they think. Could they not have stayed indoors and wrote about it? The words of a leader, gain far lesser trust than his actions. Helping others yourself is more likely to bring a change than writing about it.
The ongoing, peace disrupting, cruel and barbaric war in Gaza, the constant nefarious attacks on Palestinians: Do they not bring our hearts to ache more than any novel or story we've ever read? If pen, after all, is mightier than sword, then why have our words not made much of a difference up-till now? Are words as powerful are they rumored to be?

Is pen really mightier than sword? Let me answer it this way: Has this article and these words of mine really made a difference or created a change in your thoughts or would it have been more effective had I come down barging on your door with a revolver in my hand? Lastly, why didn't Edward Bulwer-Lyton, let the play 'Richelieni or the conspiracy' stay paper and ink, instead of having it performed? Maybe, actions speak louder than words.

Luck and Fate.

By Oxford Dictionary's definition, Luck is success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one's own action. Fate, on the other hand, is the development of events outside a person's control regarded as predetermined by a supernatural power.

I do not one hundred percent agree with these definitions. Let me explain what Luck and Fate are to me. Luck; it is not success or failure by chances, but Luck is rather realising opportunities, seeing them, differentiating between chances you have and chances you do not. Let me give you an example. You read about an available job in the newspaper. Now, Luck here would not be that you were reading the newspaper, but it would be whether you take the job as an opportunity to make something of yourself or rather take the job as just another open position. In another example, at school auditions are open for a play. Luck is you realising it as an opportunity to get extra credits, and it's Unlucky of you if you ignore it, without even considering it. This is how luck is defined; realization of opportunities.

Some once said,
" There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own, but I know better. Our fate lives within us, you only have to be brave enough to see it. "
Fate in my opinion is basically the outcome of the hard work, dedication, effort , and concentration invested into the opportunities given by Luck. Yes, Lord is in control of all, but that does not change the fact that Lord's plan can be changed by placing dedication in praying to him to pay off your hard work. That too is investing into the opportunities Luck has provided you.

Luck and Fate; both, are in our command, are in our control. We are more in control of our lives than we think we are. Luck and Fate rely upon our choices and our perseverance. How we act is exactly what we get. Luck and Fate are our own, With just slightest of efforts, we become the ruler of our world and its consequences.

.. 'til kingdom come

.. had I known then, that I wasn't to spend my life with you, I would've grasped you, no, I would've absorbed you in me... I would've sewed your skin to my skin, your soul to my soul.. I would've put your hand in mine, looked at you eye in eye, and I would've just... I would've just done something.. I would've told you I love you and that our hearts had been sown together.. I love you and our hearts are sown together.. Can you come back? Can you call me there? Why have you gone where I can't follow? I miss you

If tomorrow never comes..

Appreciation- According to Oxford Dictionaries, it’s The recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something . For my little niece, must be chocolates and toys. Well in my book, it’s something I’ve not seen much in this world.

We nowadays, are ungrateful. We take every single thing for granted; friends, family, happiness, success, in short: LIFE. We take our lives for granted and everything that falls within it.

I barely know what my best friend thinks of me, I don’t know what value do I have in my best friend’s life, I have no idea if I have made my parents proud or not, I don’t know whether my sister hates me like they show in dramas and I am also pretty sure that my best friend doesn’t know whether I value our friendship, or my parents don’t know how much I love them, or my sister doesn’t know that.

But why is it so? Why is it so that I have them with me most of the time and yet I don’t know how they feel or  they don’t know how I feel? ‘Cause we don’t express, do we? We don’t appreciate, do we?

Abu Burda narrates, That his father said, "The Prophet sent Mu'adh and Abu Musa to Yemen telling them. 'Treat the people with ease and don't be hard on them; give them glad tidings and don't fill them with aversion; and love each other, and don't differ."

Things come and go, but never do we know it’s value ‘til we need it. We never appreciate life and everything which we are blessed with.

"Any blessing you are given is from God." 16:53
and
"Your Lord has decreed : "The more you thank Me, the more I give you. But if you turn unappreciative, then My retribution is severe." 14:7

If people started appreciating, there would be more peace, love and humanity in the world. If only people knew what they meant to you, things would be better.

Now, I ask, What would happen if tomorrow never comes? Will they know how much you loved them? Did you try in every way, to show them everyday? What if one of yours’ time on Earth was through?
See I have lost people in the past who didn’t knew what they meant to me, and never would I want that to happen again. Now I live with the regret.
So, appreciate. Show the love you have inside. Don’t take anything for granted. Pay gratitude to God and value everything, tell that someone you love what you are thinking of. So avoid that circumstance where there is no second chance. ‘Cause what if tomorrow never comes?

"I am stronger than that!"

Every morning we wake up, another day, another journey.. But, there are many whose last tomorrow was today...
Some wake up excited, happy and all energetic because for them it's another fascinating and prodigious day, while others, for them, it’s a strenuous and grievous day.

I have woke up lots of times and wanted to sleep again, too scared to face what’s ahead, and I think that many of you might have wanted the same. But why? Why are we not ready to wake up? Why are we backing out?
I believe that it is simply because we are not who we set out to be. Along the way, either we forgot or this world made us forget. When everything is going smoothly and suddenly we come across crooked rugged pathway we lose faith. Our hopes are destroyed just because calamities struck us. Does that make us sound weak? Yes it does. What happened to us? How did we become so broken? We lost faith in Allah..

He the most Exalted said:
"And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him."
(65:3)

Life has a way of getting to us. No matter what has happened, something good is always around the corner and the sun will always shine again. I have backed out on life many times, but I have always found hope. The hardest thing to do at times is to gather yourself, all those little pieces, and tell yourself you can do it, but can you do it? I called it “hardest” not “impossible”.
Our thoughts are far-fetched and our patience is lessening. If we don’t work hard on ourselves, we can never make it.

The society plays a major role in destroying us and breaking us apart. It kills you, leaves you weeping, makes your heart ache, make you scream and makes your soul bleed. It pressurizes our mind, till we stop believing, its degrades till we stop living. And the worst part is, we are part of this society. So hell yeah, the way others make us feel, weep, ache, scream and bleed.. We ourselves have done the same to many..

Pain comes in many forms, some you can handle, other, you have no choice but handle.
Relationship bonds weaker than spider’s web, friendship hanging on cliffhanger, trust fading, falsehood trading places with truth, imagination running wild put thoughts too pessimistic. More hearts are breaking, and people are less understanding.

Everything around us, we’re afraid of it. We find as if no one is there anymore. Well, At Times, you have to give everything up and be your own superhero.
Take out an old photo album of you, and see if that kid knows what to do. I have a childhood picture of myself in the room, it gives hope.
Wipe away the tears, you don’t need tissues anymore, look yourself in the mirror, and tell yourself “I am stronger than that!”
Someone once said,
“No pain, No gain.”

So we may endure frightening waves pounding and crashing our fragile craft in frigid water. But we also experience twilight sky and calm waters.
So just put your faith in Allah. pray to Him and Everything is gonna be alright, I promise.

“Might not be tonight, Might not be the next day.. But one day, everything is going to be okay...”
